About the pills

Can I change my mind after the first pill?

Yes. You can want this pregnancy to continue. You are not alone — and you do not have to figure the next hour by yourself.

If you took only the first medicine

You took the first pill (mifepristone) and you want to stay pregnant. Talk with a nurse before you take anything else — chat, or the form.

Some clinicians offer progesterone after mifepristone if you want the pregnancy to continue. That is not established care, and it is not dismissed as a myth. Bleeding can be heavy. Heavy bleeding can happen before misoprostol. If you soak two thick full-size pads per hour for two hours in a row, or you are crashing, call 911.

If you already took only mifepristone, you can also read Already took the first pill.

If you took only mifepristone and you want to continue, here are two doors.

Talk with a nurse — chat, or the form. Free and private. You choose.

Talk with a nurse

For abortion pill reversal, call 877-558-0333 or go to abortionpillreversal.com. That number is the APR hotline, not a nurse line for us.

If you already took the second medicine

If you already took misoprostol, this is not an abortion-pill-reversal conversation. If you soak two thick full-size pads per hour for two hours in a row, or you are crashing, call 911. If you are stable enough to read, start with Side effects. Talk with a nurse about what you already took.

If a pregnancy continues after misoprostol, the risk of malformation is unknown. That needs a clinician.

Ask a nurse to follow up

Would you rather chat with a nurse now, or send the form and have someone write back? Free and private. You choose.
